Device Models

Optra Edge devices come in two families — Compute and Vision — with several hardware models in each. All models run the same portal software, skills, and firmware, but differ in physical form factor, hardware capabilities, and temperature tolerances.

Compute family

Compute devices are general-purpose edge nodes. They run any skill workload and integrate with the portal's full feature set, including vision-based AI skills. The Optra CX2000 includes an NPU for AI inference.

Vision family

Vision devices are powered by NVIDIA GPUs, making them ideal for compute-intensive AI workloads such as object detection, classification, and real-time video analysis.

Temperature thresholds

Optra Edge devices monitor their internal temperature and display a status indicator in the device detail Hardware card. The threshold values that trigger warnings differ by model:

ModelWarm thresholdHot threshold
Optra VZ1000≥ 75 °C≥ 97 °C
Optra VZ5000≥ 75 °C≥ 90 °C
All other models≥ 65 °C≥ 75 °C

If a device reports a temperature at or above its Warm threshold, the temperature indicator turns yellow. At or above the Hot threshold, it turns red. If you see a sustained hot reading, ensure the device has adequate ventilation and is not obstructed.
