What is Optra Edge?

The Optra Edge platform is an end-to-end IoT solution for edge computing. It combines enterprise-class hardware, containerized application deployment, and a cloud-based management portal to give you full control of your device fleet at scale.

The platform

The Optra portfolio consists of three integrated layers:

  • Devices — Pre-provisioned edge hardware that automatically connects to the Optra portal at enrollment
  • Skills — Containerized applications you deploy to one or thousands of devices through the portal
  • Portal — The management interface at portal.optra.com where you configure and orchestrate everything

Device families

Optra Edge devices are available in two families, each designed for different workload profiles.

Vision devices

Vision devices are powered by NVIDIA GPUs, making them ideal for vision-based AI workloads such as:

  • Object detection, classification, and segmentation
  • Pose estimation
  • Real-time image and video processing at the edge

Models: Optra VZ1000, Optra VZ5000, Optra VZ5100, Optra VZ6100

Compute devices

Compute devices are designed for general-purpose edge processing. The Optra CX2000 includes an NPU (neural processing unit) for AI inference. Common workloads include:

  • Network monitoring
  • Audio processing and advertising
  • VPN and secure connectivity
  • AI inference and vision-based workloads (no GPU required)

Models: Optra Compute 550, Optra CX1000, Optra CX2000

Common capabilities

All Optra Edge devices include:

note

Optra Edge devices come pre-provisioned with the required software and credentials. This allows them to automatically connect to the Optra portal at the time of enrollment — no manual credential setup required.
