Create a Workspace

Before you can add charts, you need to create a workspace to house them.

Create a workspace

  1. Click the Charts tab in the top navigation bar.

  2. Click the Add Workspace button (center of the page or in the left panel).

  3. The Add Workspace dialog will appear. Enter a name for the workspace.

You can optionally duplicate from an existing workspace — this copies all charts and their configurations into your new workspace.

  4. Click Create.

The workspace will appear in the left panel. You can now add charts to it.

Workspace default filters

When editing an existing workspace (via Settings > Gear icon), you can set default filters that apply to all charts in the workspace. These let you pre-scope data for the entire workspace without configuring each chart individually.

Available workspace-level filters:

  • Workflow — Limit data to one or more workflows
  • Device — Limit data to specific devices
  • Skill — Limit data to specific skills
  • Tag — Limit data to devices with specific tags
  • Location — Limit data to specific locations

Individual chart filters layer on top of these workspace defaults.

Workspace visibility

Admin users can control who can access a workspace using the Privacy button in the workspace toolbar.

SettingBehavior
PublicAll organization members with a chart role can see and open the workspace
PrivateOnly specific users you select can access the workspace

When set to Private, a user selection panel appears. You can search for users by name or email and select who should have access. Only users with the Chart Editor or Chart Viewer role (or Admin) can be added.

note

Only Admin users can change workspace visibility. Chart Editor and Chart Viewer users cannot modify privacy settings.

Managing workspaces

Each workspace has a gear icon (⚙) in the toolbar that provides workspace management options:

OptionDescription
EditRename the workspace or update its default filters
DuplicateCreate a copy of the workspace (and all its charts) under a new name
DeletePermanently remove the workspace and all its charts

You can also star a workspace using the ★ icon next to its name in the sidebar. Starred workspaces appear when you filter the sidebar to Starred.

Organizing workspaces

The sidebar supports several ways to find and organize workspaces:

  • Search — Press / to focus the search field and filter workspaces by name
  • Sort — Sort by Newest, Oldest, Name (A–Z), or Name (Z–A)
  • Filter — Show All, Starred, or Private workspaces only
